What's up mi gente! So the season is almost over and like I said in my last post, and as you may already know, we are locked up at that 7th spot in a very competitive Western Conference. We don't know who we're playing yet, it looks like it is going to come down to the last game of the season…either San Antonio, Houston, or Clippers. Wow. So many different styles of basketball and different match-ups. It doesn't really matter to me…we have to go through whomever is in front of us and I believe in every single one of my teammates, myself and our coaching staff. We will be ready!
So a little insight on a team bonding moment. I took the fellas out to dinner at Nick & Sam's. It's a nice steakhouse in Dallas that the guys love. I wanted it to be my treat and I wanted to truly show my appreciation and gratitude for the guys letting me into their lives with open arms. I have said this before but it is worth repeating…these guys welcomed me and made me feel at home from jump street and the chemistry on this team is phenomenal, something I'll always value.
So one of my partners, Moet Hennessy USA, totally hooked us up with a great setup. Good looking and special thanks to Manny Gonzalez, Claribel Almonte, Rodney Williams and Team Hennessy Latino. Also, got to show some love to Stance Socks (@stancehoops), Melin Hats (shout out to Mark Mastrandrea), and of course Team Villanueva (which consist of my older brothers Rob E, Rob C and my guy Burton Chawla). I gotta share this dope video the team just sent me:
I get a little emotional in that video…I DID NOT expect to get teary-eyed, it just happened real talk. The bottom line is that we had a great moment and a great dinner. Even more so, we are together…bound for a run in the playoffs. The story has been told before and sometimes I don't even like talking about it, but as you may know...it will be my first time, in 10 YEARS in the League, that I will appear in the NBA Playoffs. That's the story…I can't help it and I KNOW God has a plan. This was his plan for me. So I am enjoying this moment but know there is more to come…there will be opportunity that will be in front of me…and I must and will be ready.
