Where we at?

Let me start off by apologizing...I haven't posted in awhile. So much has been on my mind lately. I guess this is a good place to talk about it, right? Blogging is a form of expression...so hear me out. We, as a team, have been struggling. We have lost 4 out of 5 games including games to teams we might have to see at some point if/when we make the playoffs. We are only 9-10 since the All-Star break and it is critical that things turn around for us immediately. We have to be playing our best basketball in April.

And honestly I can't put my finger on one thing we are doing wrong. For awhile I thought we needed to grind more…that we were simply showing up expecting to win. That isn't the case anymore…we are all definitely grinding and working hard. And Rondo is doing his thing…Coach has given him more leeway and he is calling his own plays…and it is working. Like I said, I can't put my finger on one thing. Z-Bo killed us in that game against Memphis, we should not have lost to Phoenix, San Antonio is playing good ball and extracted revenge on us, and we had a chance in Indy but also shouldn't have lost that one. I guess that shows you that these games are so close and that every play, every second, every hustle matters.

So maybe that's it? Maybe we gotta push a little more. I honestly don't know…I know that sounds weird. I do believe the Dallas organization has put together a GREAT team. I do believe we are still working on getting better. I do believe that Coach Carlisle has a master plan. Listen, you guys have to understand this...I haven't been to the playoffs in my career NOT once, but this team, obviously, is talented enough and has a strong shot to make a great run. But we also do play in the loaded West and we must get better. We simply are not playing the Mavericks basketball we were playing at the beginning of the season. We have some really important big games coming up…some true tests. Let's see where we at…

Anxiously pushing,

Charlie Villanueva #believeincharlie
